Nairobi, Munich to Host Next World Athletics Championships

World Athletics confirmed Tuesday that Nairobi will host the 2029 World Athletics Championships and Munich will host the 2031 edition. This marks the first time Africa will host a World Athletics Championship at the absolute level, breaking a geographical barrier since the first championship in 1983 in Helsinki.

"We are very fortunate to have four spectacular bids for 2029 and 2031 and the decision was not easy for the Council," acknowledged Sebastian Coe from Budapest, referring to the proposals from Nairobi, Munich, London and Rome. iwanktv.club
