Mets Place Mauricio on IL, Call Up Brujan

The New York Mets have placed infielder Ronny Mauricio on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb fracture and called up Vidal Brujan from Triple-A Syracuse.

Ronny Mauricio suffered the injury during Saturday's game against the Angels when he dived into first base. Manager Carlos Mendoza expects Mauricio to miss 6-8 weeks while the team awaits further details from a CT scan scheduled for Monday.

Vidal Brujan, acquired from Minnesota in January, will make his Mets debut. The 28-year-old is a .199 career hitter who will be used interchangeably with Bo Bichette at shortstop. The move comes as the Mets deal with multiple position player injuries. amunra-opinie.pl
