McCarthy Giants Practice, Role Unclear

Coach John Harbaugh has confirmed that Jameis Winston will start at quarterback Sunday against Arizona, but the Giants have not announced whether McCarthy or practice squad QB Jake Haener will back up. The Giants traded a fifth-round pick to acquire McCarthy after losing Jaxson Dart and linebacker Brian Burns to season-ending injuries, suggesting the coaching staff believes McCarthy can make a difference.

'Very talented player who is going to make us a stronger football team,' Harbaugh said of McCarthy. Winston was 14 of 22 for 118 yards in a 12-7 victory over Tennessee, with the Giants winning on four field goals and a defensive stop. realschule-moosburg.de
