Panthers Place Brazzell on IR, Sign Metayer

The Carolina Panthers have placed rookie wide receiver Chris Brazzell on injured reserve due to a knee injury suffered in practice and have signed tight end Chamon Metayer.

Third-round pick Chris Brazzell will miss the 2026 season after suffering a knee injury at practice. The Tennessee product and first-team All-SEC selection will undergo surgery to repair his lateral collateral ligament and rehab for the 2027 season.

With an open roster spot, the Panthers signed tight end Chamon Metayer, who was originally an undrafted rookie with the Steelers before being released in June. forestarrow.rest
