Cowboys sign DBs Thomas, Austin to bolster secondary

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms with defensive backs Juanyeh Thomas and Alex Austin to strengthen their depleted secondary.

The Cowboys are signing Austin, a seventh-round pick of the Bills in 2023 who has played for the Patriots and Texans, to the practice squad. Thomas, an undrafted free agent since 2022, is also joining the team, though it's unclear whether he'll be on the active roster or practice squad. solvita.blog

The moves come as the Cowboys face significant injuries in their secondary, with safeties Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke on injured reserve, Jalen Thompson heading there this week, and cornerbacks Shavon Revel and Cobie Durant also sidelined.
