From the Springboks to the Bulls, the veteran playmakers have spent more than a decade learning each other’s games, and Le Roux believes that understanding could prove invaluable when they face Leinster at Croke Park.
“Polly and I go back to 2014, when we first played together for the Springboks, so it’s been a few years,” said Le Roux.
“We know each other well and I think we understand each other, we know our strengths and weaknesses. We know what the one does, then the other just follows up and backs him.
“We are each other’s eyes and help each other as best we can. Communication is the most important.”

The experienced duo will have a major role to play if the Bulls are to unlock a Leinster side renowned for its defensive organisation.
Adding another layer to the challenge is the presence of former Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber, whose defensive systems have become synonymous with relentless pressure and suffocating line speed.
Le Roux knows exactly what Nienaber brings to the table.
“Jacques is an incredible coach. They’ve got an incredible defence which is really hard to break down and very hard to play against.
“Even when you know what’s coming, it’s still hard to go through them and around them. Knowing the coach doesn’t help you on the field where you only have a split-second decision to make.”

Mallett: Brown will commit 100% to Boks
Former Springbok coach Nick Mallett says Tony Brown’s return to New Zealand is no cause for concern for South African rugby.
The Bok attack coach will join the All Blacks coaching staff in 2028 having signed a two-year deal with NZ Rugby.
The timing of the announcement – 15 months before the 2027 World Cup in Australia – raised eyebrows, given the fierce rivalry between the Springboks and All Blacks and how this could potentially impact the world champions.
However, Mallett believes Brown’s professionalism will ensure there is no drop in commitment over the next two seasons.

“Tony Brown’s a fantastic coach. He really is a wonderful coach,” Mallett said on the Talking Boks podcast.
“He’s committed to the Springboks until 2027. And I can tell you, having coached overseas – I coached Italy having coached South Africa – you give 100% to the team that you’re coaching.
“The professional nature of professional sport is that you want to do the very best with the group that you have.
“Obviously, your country where you came from is critical to you. And it’s your biggest love. But when you’re coaching overseas and you’re coaching another national side, the worst thing is to lose by 50, 60, 70 points. The Springboks smash Italy, and you’re coaching Italy.
“So I think Tony Brown is going to commit 100% to South Africa.”

Brown has earned widespread praise for the role he’s played in the evolution of the Boks’ attack since joining Rassie Erasmus’ coaching team in 2024.
His appointment was viewed as a major coup for South African rugby and Mallett believes the former All Blacks flyhalf will continue to invest everything in the Springboks’ pursuit of a third successive World Cup title. They are expected to meet the All Blacks in the quarter-finals next year.

“If we go into a quarter-final in that World Cup in 2027, there won’t be one iota of his rugby knowledge that he’s not passing on to the Boks,” Mallett said.
“He’ll be trying to contribute as much as possible to us winning that match against New Zealand.”

Changement de Constitution en RDC: le parti présidentiel dénonce «un coup de théâtre» de l’opposition lors d’un sit-in
En RDC, réplique cinglante du parti présidentiel aux accusations de l’opposition dénonçant la répression de sa marche du 12 juin contre le projet de changement de la Constitution porté par la majorité au pouvoir, à deux ans de la fin du deuxième mandat du président. La manifestation de la Coalition Article 64 (C64) était menée notamment par les partis de Martin Fayulu, Moïse Katumbi, Delly Sesanga, Matata Ponyo et des mouvements citoyens. Lors d’une matinée politique le 14 juin au siège du parti présidentiel, son chef a accusé l’opposition d’avoir menti sur des blessures et les circonstances de la dispersion de la contestation, pour discréditer le régime de Félix Tshisekedi.
Soupçons de botulisme : plusieurs personnes hospitalisées ce week-end, la consommation de charcuterie en cause
Des soupçons de botulisme reviennent sur la table un an, jour pour jour, après l'anniversaire mortel d'Ambohimalaza et quelques jours après une vague de contrôles menés par le ministère du Commerce et de la Consommation dans les grandes surfaces d'Antananarivo, d'Antsirabe et de Diana. .
Quatre membres d'une même famille, originaires d'Antsirabe, ont été transférés au Centre hospitalier universitaire Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona (CHU-JRA), dans la capitale. « Les malaises sont apparus après la consommation de charcuterie achetée dans une grande surface d'Antsirabe. La piste du botulisme est sérieusement envisagée », confie une source hospitalière. Faute de plateau technique adapté sur place, les patients ont dû être acheminés à Antananarivo. Deux d'entre eux seraient désormais stabilisés, les deux autres restant sous étroite surveillance médicale.
Dans un autre établissement de la capitale, deux personnes supplémentaires sont prises en charge pour un tableau clinique comparable. Là encore, le mal proviendrait de charcuterie, cette fois achetée à Antananarivo même.
Ces signalements ont placé les autorités en état d'alerte. Par précaution, l'ensemble des produits de charcuterie aurait été retiré des rayons de plusieurs grandes surfaces, dans la capitale comme en province, puis entreposé en chambre froide, le temps que des prélèvements partent au laboratoire. « L'État a renforcé ses interventions à la suite des cas recensés à Antsirabe et à Antananarivo », souligne la ministre du Commerce et de la Consommation, Haingotiana Andriamadison.
Dans une seule enseigne de la capitale, les marchandises consignées auraient rempli plus de sept chariots, désormais placés sous scellés. Leur sort dépendra des analyses : retour en vente si rien d'anormal n'est décelé, destruction pure et simple en cas de danger avéré. La ministre a rappelé aux commerçants leur obligation de garantir la qualité des denrées et, surtout, de respecter sans faille la chaîne du froid, dont la rupture favorise la prolifération bactérienne.
Du côté des soignants, un appel se fait pressant : rendre enfin disponibles, à Madagascar, les antidotes contre la toxine botulique, alors que les épisodes se multiplient et que, pour les patients, chaque heure compte.
Faut-il rappeler que dans la nuit du 14 au 15 juin 2025, plusieurs dizaines de convives avaient péri après un repas de fête, lors de ce qui reste dans les mémoires comme une « journée noire ».
