CM : Un joueur et un photographe irakiens accrédités interdits aux États-Unis
Iran et Irak, même combat. Selon les informations du Guardian, Aymen Hussein a été interrogé par les autorités à son arrivée à Chicago. Il aurait été retenu et questionné pendant près de sept heures après avoir atterri avec la délégation irakienne. Il aurait été confondu avec un autre ressortissant irakien par les autorités américaines. Plusieurs médias irakiens ont expliqué qu’il avait été traité « tel un terroriste ». Selon l’agence de presse Shafaq, «la délégation irakienne a tout tenté pour obtenir la libération du joueur, mais en vain».
Aymen Hussein n’est pas le seul Irakien à avoir vécu un calvaire à son arrivée en terre américaine. Talal Salah, le photographe officiel de la sélection ( notre photo), a, lui aussi, vécu un traitement particulier à sa sortie de l’avion. Il a été retenu douze heures avant de se voir refuser son entrée sur le territoire américain, alors que son visa et son accréditation lui ont été délivrés par la FIFA. Il a ensuite expliqué sur son compte Instagram « avoir quitté Chicago en direction de Madrid, avant une deuxième escale au Caire, en Égypte, puis un retour final à Bagdad ».

Former Stormers target joins Irish club
Argentina tighthead prop Eduardo Bello has secured a move to an Irish club ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The 30-year-old signed a one-year contract with Ulster.
Bello has not played since suffering an ACL injury while representing Los Pumas in the 2024 Rugby Championship, but has convinced Ulster he is ready to return to action.
Bello leaves the Newcastle Falcons after two seasons in England and joins an Ulster squad seeking reinforcements at tighthead, with Ireland international Tom O’Toole expected to spend more time at loosehead next season.
Stormers director of rugby John Dobson had last year identified Bello as a potential recruit to bolster his front-row resources in Cape Town.
At the time, there were concerns over the long-term back and neck injuries to Springbok Frans Malherbe, as well as the potential disruption by Bok call-ups for the likes of Neethling Fouché.

However, a deal never materialised and since then, the Stormers have significantly strengthened their front-row depth.
Fouché has continued his rise as one of the leading tightheads in the Vodacom URC, youngster Zachary Porthen has also made the step up to the Springboks, and Sazi Sandi continues his development in the senior set-up.
The Stormers will also receive a major boost when Springbok Wilco Louw return to Cape Town after a successful stint with the Bulls.

ALG : Déjà des départs au CR Belouizdad !
Le CR Belouizdad continue de connaître une série de changements importants au niveau de sa direction. Le président du conseil d’administration, Mohamed Arar, a décidé de mettre fin aux fonctions du directeur général de la société sportive, Abdelmoumen Berraf, ainsi que du directeur exécutif, Amine Sebaï, dans le cadre d’une nouvelle phase de réorganisation interne. Selon une source proche du dossier, le départ d’Abdelmoumen Berraf était envisagé depuis plusieurs semaines, en raison de désaccords persistants avec la nouvelle équipe dirigeante du club.
Ces tensions auraient finalement précipité la décision de mettre un terme à sa mission. De son côté, le passage d’Amine Sebaï au sein de l’organigramme du Chabab n’aura été que de courte durée. Nommé récemment sur proposition du directeur sportif, Djaber Naâmoune, il a été écarté après la réception d’un rapport défavorable adressé à la présidence. Ce document ferait état de certaines activités liées à son académie privée dans le domaine du management, ainsi que de zones d’ombre concernant les certifications délivrées. Cette double décision s’inscrit dans une volonté affichée de la direction du CRB de restructurer en profondeur son fonctionnement administratif et de renforcer les exigences de transparence et de rigueur au sein de l’institution.

Ndlovu is already in the bag
Pirates have wrapped up the signing of in-demand winger Siyanda Ndlovu from Golden Arrows. With four goals and six assists from 25 appearances in the league last term, he’s been in demand. Tshepang Moremi, Oswin Appollis and Relebohile Mofokeng are already at the club, so here’s now a seeming oversupply of wide attackers on the books. Ndlovu’s imminent arrival could be the clearest sign yet that 21-year-old Mofokeng’s final form is in the number 10 role. Ndlovu’s arrival is hot off the heels of Sipho Mbule’s exit from the club.

Big Vic: Tony won’t take any Bok secrets
Victor Matfield is unfazed by the prospect of attack coach Tony Brown taking Springbok intellectual property back to New Zealand after the 2027 World Cup.
NZ Rugby announced on Monday that Brown had signed a two-year contract to be part of the All Blacks coaching set-up from 2028.
Speaking on the Rivals podcast, Matfield insisted that Brown’s departure should not be viewed as a concern.
“One thing I do like about Rassie [Erasmus] is his open communication,” the former Bok lock said. “Before the last World Cup, we knew Jacques Nienaber and Felix Jones were going to leave almost a year before the tournament, and they still did a fantastic job.”

Matfield also recalled a similar challenge during his playing days when former Bok forwards coach Gert Smal joined Ireland.
“He worked with me for hours on lineouts, so it was difficult because he knew exactly how I thought about the game,” he said.
“But it works both ways. Tony is sharing everything with the Boks now, and when he goes there, we’ll also know how he thinks and what he wants from an attack.”

Matfield also dismissed concerns that Brown would expose South Africa’s secrets to their fiercest rivals.
“I think everyone knows what the DNA of the Springboks is,” he said. “We want to dominate set-piece, dominate territory, and the kicking game and aerial battle are hugely important to us. Then we’ve got X-factor players who can hurt you from anywhere.
“I think most teams know exactly what we do and how we do it.”
POLL: Should Brown stay or go now?
Matfield said the Boks would look to tap into all of Brown’s knowledge and experience in a bid to land a hat-trick of World Cup titles, which would lead to an “even bigger rivalry” between the two countries.
“Let’s just win our third World Cup, and then you can have him, because then we need some competition,” Matfield quipped.
