Barça Overhauls Basketball Project

FC Barcelona has undergone a significant transformation of its basketball section, with changes spanning from sports direction to coaching staff and team roster. The recent appointment of Xevi Pujol marks just the beginning of this overhaul.

Today, Aleksander Sekulic will be presented as the first Slovenian coach in the section's history, tasked with leading the youngest team Barcelona has fielded in recent years. The Palau Blaugrana now eagerly awaits the return of the basketball to competitive action.

Tennis: Alcaraz fortsatt skadet – må droppe Masters-turnering

Verdenstoer Carlos Alcaraz er fortsatt ikke friskmeldt fra håndleddsskaden han pådro seg i april, og har meldt avbud til ATP Masters 1000-turneringen i Cincinnati.
Turneringen i den amerikanske delstaten Ohio, der den spanske 23-åringen vant i fjor, starter 13. august.
– Vi vet at Carlos gjør alt han kan for å komme tilbake til turneringsspill så snart som mulig. Vi ønsker ham alt godt med rehabiliteringen og ser fram til å ønske ham velkommen tilbake til Cincinnati i fremtiden, sier turneringsdirektør Bob Moran.
Alcaraz er også tittelforsvarer i US Open, årets siste Grand Slam-turnering, som starter 30. august i New York. Skadeforfallet som ble kjent tirsdag, sår også tvil om Alcaraz kan stille der.
Den sjudobbelte Grand Slam-vinneren har allerede trukket seg fra blant annet Roland-Garros i Paris og Wimbledon i London i år etter skaden som han pådro seg i første runde av Barcelona Open i april.
